Fidget spinners: Mom warns against the risk of choking
A Texas mom is concerned about the potential choking hazard of centrifuges, it was a new and fascinating toy and frustrating some teachers.
Kelly Rose Joniec says her daughter Britton ended up in the emergency room after accidentally swallowing a part of the gadget, which was then to be removed surgically from her throat. The family refused to be interviewed, but the local media Britton is 10 years old and came out of the hospital.
Joniec, who lives in the Houston area, drove the girl to the house during a swimming encounter on Saturday, when she heard Britton "doing a strange gesture of vomiting in the back seat," she wrote on Facebook.
"Looking back in the mirror, I saw her face turn red and a drop flowing from her mouth - she could grow noises but panicked so I immediately withdrew," Joniec wrote.
"She pointed her throat saying that she had swallowed something, so I tried Heimlich but there was no resistance. She said that she would have put a part Of his fauchard in his mouth to clean it and swallowed it in some way.
An ambulance took the girl to the Texas Children's Hospital, where an X-ray showed that the whipped ring was lodged in her esophagus. Doctors had to use an endoscope to find and remove the metallic object during surgery requiring general anesthesia, Joniec wrote. TODAY: TURNED HE spoke to the hospital for comments.

"Fortunately, we had a positive result, but it was pretty scary for a while," Joniec said.
"Fidget spinners are the current craze, so they are widely distributed." Children of all ages can get them but all spinners do not contain any " The rings are easily visible, so if you have young children ... keep in mind that the latter present a potential choking hazard ".

Other families are issuing similar warnings, with a Georgia grandmother warning that a whipping creature is separated into the hands of her 3-year-old son.
Fidget spinners come with various instructions, depending on the manufacturer. A bestseller on Amazon.com noted that the gadget was "appropriate" for children over 10 years of age. Another spinner sold by Learning Express had a clear warning: "CHOICE OF RISK - Small parts, not for children under 3 years of age".The taking of a pediatrician
Dr. Wendy Sue Swanson, a Seattle pediatrician who writes the Seattle Mama Doc blog, had this advice:
• Keep tracks away from children under 3 years of age. Only toys that comply with the regulations established by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission are suitable for this age group.
• For children ages 3 to 6, Swanson recommended allowing them to play with a supervised agitated spinner.
• For older children, it would be impractical to monitor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to monitor how they play with a pocket gadget, she said. Swanson suggested educating your children about the risk of choking by raising this incident and saying, "You can play with it with your hands, but keep it out of your mouth. Not been very long, they could break into small pieces and I do not want it to be in your body. "The children do not want to hurt themselves, so they will be careful, she said.
Swanson was not surprised a 10 year old who would put the gadget in his mouth.
"Think about how the children chew pencils," she said. "These spinners can attract the attention of children of all ages, and all ages can rape, shake, put them in their mouth ... An adult could do it just as easily as a child."
