Russell Davison was left "torn" after the death of his wife Wendy

 
 
 A man revealed how he slept in the same room as his wife's body for six days after his death. 
 
 Wendy Davison, 50, died at home in Derby last month after a 10-year battle with cervical cancer. 
 
 Russell Davison, who was left "torn", said he did not want his body to make a morgue and that he wanted to challenge the attitudes toward the death. 
 
 It is legal to keep a body at home and the Derbyshire Coroner's Court confirmed that Ms. Davison's physician reported her death. 
 
 Mr. Davison said: "Death seems to be a taboo subject in our society, nobody seems to want to talk about it. 
 
" I had not wanted it in the bureaucracy or I handed it over to a funeral director, I wanted us to take care of herself in our family home, in our room so that I could sleep in the same room. "

 When Ms. Davison was diagnosed shortly after the couple's joint celebration in 40 years in 2006, she decided to take a "natural" (19459012) 
 "We werent Ready to put his life back to the doctors. "We wanted to do our own research and do the best job possible to keep Wendy alive," he said. 
 
 He believes that their approach, which involves refusing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, has extended Wendy's life "by a very long time." 
 
 "Beautiful and comforting" 
 
 In 2014, Mrs. Davison was Six months before living, so the pair traveled to Europe where they had "absolute hour of our lives. " 
 
 But last September, they were forced to return home as their illness became too serious. 
 
 She received palliative care at the Royal Derby Hospital, but they were determined that she would not say that is to say there. 
 
 The pair decided that she would be cared for at home by her family and her body would stay there until her cremation. 
 
 She died on April 21
