The "therapy" shopping only allows you until now
pexels-photo-285172 "width =" 300 "height = /> </b> <span style= For many people, when things get tough and feel, if they can afford it, they will make their purchases.I know that i do it.and because j & I have a mood disorder (bipolar disorder), I am particularly prone to feel badly often, do not spend an exorbitant amount at a time, maybe $ 30.00 or $ 40.00. Last time I bought when I was depressed, I bought a nightgown that said "Do not wake me, I dream." A cup of coffee that said "Call your mother TJ Maxx to the rescue. "

But I do not know what to do, appre Nds That shopping "therapy" only grants you so far.

On the one hand, if you constantly buy things, you will get by. Having so many counters, dressing tables, cupboards, coffee tables - places to put things. At this point in my life, I have acquired a lot of material goods and, unless I get rid of something when I buy something, I really have nothing to do to store Or display something new. For example, my cupboard of coffee mug is completely stored. When I bought the "Call your Mother" cup, I had to donate two old cups to the Salvation Army, so I had room for it. Recent acquisition. Out with the old and all with the new. But is not it a little wasteful?

Of course it is.

I waste money and time in the shops all in the name of trying to feel better, to have my head "right".

What I discover is that prayer / meditation, exercise, service and creativity are much better than shopping. And these things are relatively free!

For example, yesterday I felt in the dumps, and I prayed and meditated just for a few minutes. I prayed the "Our Father". I asked direction and forgiveness for my weaknesses. After about 20 minutes of silence I felt much better. I attributed my change of mood to my prayer / meditation session.

In fact, I felt better after praying and meditating than I did after my last races. And I did not have to endure my new items in my house because I had no place to put them.

Another example. I went into a gym in January to lose weight. I do not lose much weight, but I get a lot of relaxation and relief from swimming depression three times a week.

So the food for thought. When you have the urge to shop around to relieve a bad mood or a bad situation, stop for a moment and think. Consider an alternative. Instead of fleeing to Macy's, take a walk around the block and think of good thoughts.

Another thing that shopping that can alleviate a bad mood is the service. People are much more rewarding than things. Today, I feel a little irrelevant, I will take a friend who is "closed" to lunch.

This action will do two things. It will make me feel better, and it will make my friend feel better. A win / win situation.

The service does not necessarily have to be a complete volunteer project. He can simply call an elderly neighbor to see how he does it. Reaching instead of spending money can really clear your head. This can make you right.

Finally, another thing you can do instead of shopping is creative. Dance, sing, act, play an instrument, do crafts, paint, write. Writing is an infallible activity that frees me from my discomfort. I can honestly say, this is the best "medicine".

So the shopping therapy does not make you that far.

Stash that cash in The bank for a rainy day. Or give it to a good cause. Avoid purchasing tangible property that will only clutter your home. And your life.

Finally, there is a time and a place to shop, but do not exaggerate, and do not use it as a crutch to spend your time On this Earth

There are many more effective techniques and activities that will allow you to be happy, healthy and feel good.

Go there and find them.
