Pistons coach adopts a dog with neglected special needs in an accommodation event
A dog that was found dumped in the cold, lame and near the blind a few months ago was the last remaining animal in an animal shelter in northern Michigan following an event "clean shelter ". The dog was adopted this week and his new home is with Stan Van Gundy.
Detroit Pistons head coach heard about the BISSELL Pet Foundation event and was enthusiastic about the idea of bringing home a new pet, according to a press release. When the family missed the opportunity to adopt a new pet, the 17-year-old daughter of Van Gundy expressed her "disappointment".

At luck, they may have missed the event, but they were the family to get the last animal out of the shelter by adopting Eastwood.
The red-blotched Labrador retriever mixture was born with a genetic defect in one of his back legs that should have been fixed as a puppy. Eastwood has a year and also has a condition that causes her eyelashes to grow inward. He has been operational to repair this and his vision has improved. The condition of the eye is what prevented the adopters from bringing home the adorable dog, despite his personality.
However, the shelter says that specialists are expecting it to need a $ 4,000 surgery for its leg and even more eye surgery.
After hearing the story of Eastwood, the Van Gundy knew that it would be their dog.
MEN CAN PREVENT THEIR ATTRACTIVENESS IN CLEAN THIS TYPE OF PET
"We are so grateful to the Van Gundy family for the awareness they bring to adoption and for opening their hearts to make a difference that will change the life of Eastwood forever" , Said Cathy Bissell, founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation in a Liberation press. "Every refuge pet deserves a second chance. So many pets are waiting to be adopted and we hope that the history of Eastwood will help save these pets as well. "
Kim Van Gundy heads the Paternity Group of the Detroit Fathers and Family and is delighted to welcome Eastwood into his family.
"Special thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation for sponsoring Empty the Shelters," said Kim Van Gundy, the new mother of Eastwood. "If it was not for Empty the Shelters, our family would not have seen Eastwood. We still believe our animals find us.
